Do you think it is good dating advice for mothers to tell their daughters don’t date all guys just want sex?

well actually it is something my grandmother says- and my mom as well- from like age 13 and up to me, their girl, that most guys are liars and cheaters and all they want is to get in a girl’s pants and they will tell her anything to get in her pants, and it is better to not date and wait around on guys and to focus on your school work! because these young boys will give you an std or get you pregnant, and they don’t care. they won’t take care of the child.

find a guy that is your friend, and cares about you that won’t hurt you and that you care about.

If you must do something what ever you do, use protection. The last thing you need to do is end up pregnant.

if anyone says its not true they are lieing! guys think about sex 24/7 but its not like EVERY guy wants to screw u. Once in a while u will actually find the nice guy. Just be careful u can easily spot the dogs..

i think a sweeping generalization like that is ridiculous. im 17 and i have been with the same girl for going on 3 years and we still havent had sex once, and im still a virgin. so there is some hope for her =] give her a chance

i think that’s bad advice. It is telling a girl that to date you have to have sex which isn’t true. You can casually date and see if you really like someone. I think the best thing to teach is that sex is sacred adn to be careful.

Yeah it seems to be that your grandma and mom are MEN HATERS as they say because they got burned alot. Well what my mom says is “No bodys gonna want the cow if they get the milk for free”. Guys think about sex every 5 seconds. But hey we woman areint all that great either. What I suggest is when you date a guy, never give up sex right away make them wait awhile so that they know, your not the kind of girl that just gives it up for anybody and that they cant just use you. Some woman think if they have sex with a man theyll stick around. Well whats the fun in that. Its better to get to know someone then when your both ready to have sex you know that you like one another and that you made the right decision.

Not all guys just want sex. you just have to find the guys that aren’t all about sex.. a guy that actually cares about you. when you start dating a guy take it slow, and if he pushes it till him you want to wait for a while, and if he sticks around he cares about more then just sex, if he breaks up with you, or keeps pushing it then all he cares about is sex. you just gotta weed out the good ones from the bad ones. good luck, it takes a long time to find the right guy, but when you do it’s worth it.

When you’re young it is best to focus on an education rather then boys.

no, it sounds more of a grandma and mom worried sick aabout their”lil girl”out in the dating world. Afraid she will not make right choices for her body and health, afraid she will be pressured into having sex and ending up pregant. Perhaps being over protective to the point of lying to the girl and hopefully scaring the girl from even noticing boys until she is much older.

But, saying that..boys of 13 and upward are changing ..raging hormones and all. But that is a life cycle.it does not make them horrible creeps.

Take their adive with a grain of salt..know they are trying to protect you..and just keep showing them what a responsible person you are.

That is a terrible thing to say, What about your grandpa?? Or your father??

There are tons of great guys out there. Yes there are some creeps too. but to Label every guy like that? That’s just wrong.

I don’t think that’s the way to talk to you about sex, but you have to consider why they talk to you about sex and dating that way. They know how serious the decisions are you have to make, and they want you to be as safe as possible. To think about it another way, people tell kids horror stories about drugs that mostly aren’t true. They make you think that the first time you do cocaine you’ll become an addict and your life will fall apart. This probably won’t happen, but it’s the only way parents know how to emphasize the seriousness of drugs.

Yeah that is really bad advice. I understand your gramar and mother is coming from. They don’t want to see anyone getting hurt, maybe because something happened from a previous relationship.

Giving out incorrect advice is dishonest and is actually lying. I know your trying to protect your loved ones but saying that isnt going to make anything better it’s a relaity of life. It people didnt make mistakes, then people wouldnt learn, and then people wouldnt become better people because there wouldnt be anyhting to improve on.

Sure Std and getting pregaunt is a risk, but it’s a protecting yourself?. Maybe giving advice on how to proctect would be better than saying ” ALL BOYS ARE LIEARS AND CHEATERS.”
